Reunion 2020 –

Update Post-2020 AGM - Sept 27th 2020

The AGM of the St Michael's College Society was held, for the first time in its 114-year history, on-line on Saturday 26th September 2020 at 2pm. The President and officers were joined by SMCS members both from across the UK and from other parts of the world for the occasion. Minutes of the AGM will be posted for registered members to read in the next issue of the magazine and details of items agreed during the meeting will be posted here in due course.

Committee update - July 2020

The SMCS committee members have met (virtually) with the specific aim of deciding whether to go ahead with this year's Reunion at Michaelmas.

Having given it full consideration, and despite the recent relaxation of the lockdown, we feel it would NOT be realistic or sufficiently safe to gather in September as planned.

We will, instead, hold an online AGM on that day and then look forward to physically meeting up in 2021, all things being well.

In the meantime, the Society's annual magazine has been published and posted out to subscribers and published for download here

Please be aware, the committee has agreed that going forward, the traditional red-bound magazine will only be physically posted to those members who pay an annual subscription, and in general, all communication will in future be by email and via Facebook and the website.

Of course, all former pupils and staff of the College are automatically members of the Society, along with elected Friends, and you all will continue to be so. Therefore, a letter will be sent out shortly to all members for whom we have only a postal address to ask them to update their contact details.

If you do not currently pay an annual subscription, which is not a membership fee but a contribution to the Society's running costs and which enables us to help St Michael's church and the PCC financially, etc., then please set up a standing order with your bank - we recommend a £15 subscription.

This can be done yourself using your online banking or alternatively a form is available to download : https://smcsociety.co.uk/membership/
You will need to add the society's bank details so please email to request these.

In the meantime, here are some highlights from the 2019 reunion.
