Memories, edited by Charles Beresford

In this publication thirty people remember their time at St Michael’s between 1925 and 1985. Flashbacks of life in this remarkable Choir School and mainly boarding Preparatory School combine vividly with several articles and appendices to evoke the flavour of the times, the people, the music and the place. Autobiographical memories by a variety of interesting adults illustrate many aspects of childhood that can, sometimes surprisingly, be recalled decades later.

“Memories” was produced for the 150th anniversary of the foundation of St Michael’s by Sir Frederick Ouseley in 1856. Your copy of this 132-page book is available for £8.75 from the committee or for £10 including postage and padded packing from the editor – charlesberesford@yahoo.co.uk.

Thanks to all the contributors and readers who have commented so positively about how their own memory has been stimulated by this since its production in September 2006.
